Designed specifically for customers running a variety of parts or applications where tip breakage is a problem, the “Quick Point” interchangeable point live center allows for maximum versatility. This live center is capable of delivering .0005 TIR accuracy at speeds up to 5,000 RPM. The Quick Point is a must have tool for both CNC and manual applications where versatility is a necessity. Designed around the Sprint bearing design, the Quick Point live center combines the high performance capabilities of the Sprint series with the flexibility of an interchangeable point design.
The Quick Point live center is available from stock in Morse tapers. Interchangeable points are available from stock in standard point, tracer point, bull nose point and female point configurations. Live centers and points are available individually or as a complete set. Custom variations of the interchangeable points and live centers with different tapers can be designed using our on-line design tool “Design-Your-Own” or by discussing your application with one of our product specialists.
This unique bearing design combines the radial performance of a double row angular contact bearing coupled with the axial performance of a large diameter ball thrust bearing. Both the front and rear bearing bores are ground in one operation through a process unique to Riten Industries. As a result, bearing bores are both concentric and coaxial with the Morse taper. Proper bearing alignment and fit are key to providing an accurate live center with improved bearing life.
The shell is manufactured from low carbon steel and case hardened, while the spindle is manufactured from 52100 ball bearing steel and through hardened to provide the maximum strength and durability needed in a live center spindle.
In addition to the primary lip seal, the Quick Point live center comes standard with an external no friction seal. This “coolant deflector” helps provide maximum protection against coolant and other contaminants. Contamination is the primary cause of premature bearing failure. Our double seal design is the proven industry leader in high-pressure coolant applications.
Interchangeable live centers will be rebuilt to “Like New” condition for 40% of the cost of a new tool. This is a total reconditioning of the entire live center. The shell is inspected for damage and the taper shank is reground as needed. The bearings, seals and spindle are replaced with new components and the live center is returned to its original accuracy. Every repair receives the identical factory warranty as that of a new live center.
In the unlikely event that your live center is beyond repair, Riten offers a preferred customer trade-in allowance of up to 35% on the purchase of an equivalent live center. Every Riten live center, no matter its condition, is eligible for trade-in. Repairs can be returned through you local Riten distributor or send direct to the factory
